Marie is a young brunette woman who is Louis-Cesare's human lover in 1661 Carcassonne, France. She would visit him in his cell while he was still human and a prisoner of his royal half-brother.[1]

1. Touch the Dark[]
On Cassie's first vision/shift to Carcassonne, she inhabits Louis-Cesare who is in bed with Marie in the middle of having sex. An older woman enters with guards, scolds Marie, and takes Louis away under guard.[1] On Cassie's last shift to Carcassonne, she takes possession of Marie while Mircea possesses Louis-Cesare—they finish doing what the other two started. Cassie and Mircea are there to save Louis from being killed before he can be changed into a vampire and to save Mircea's brother Radu from centuries of torture and eventual madness.[2]
