Tanet and the rest of Claire's dragon-family are excited to discover her existence and joyous. Tanet is immediately protective of her—he punched Heidar for not controlling himself better.[5] Tanet goes with Claire to New York as her guard—he doesn't trust the mortal world.[6] When Claire and Heidar fell into Seb's trap and were surrounded by mages, Tanet fell through the ceiling and broke it up and started eating and fighting mages.[7] He returned to Faerie soon afterward.[8]
